I’m thrilled to share that from December 8 to 16 My Brightest Diamond (solo) will be supporting Andrew Bird in a series of Chicago shows for his annual Gezelligheid Christmas at Fourth Presbyterian Church. These cozy shows are always memorable, and this year I’ll be performing new music that I’ve been writing over the last month.

Noel Night in Detroit
My Brightest Diamond will be performing new solo songs on Saturday, December 3rd at First Congregational Church in Detroit as part of the city’s 48th annual Noel Night celebration.
Shara’s grandfather held tent revivals across the southern US for over 50 years, preaching and playing his guitar with their family band. Later, Nova's father conducted church choirs, most often accompanied by her mother on piano and organ, though financial pressures often forced the family to move states. These newly written My Brightest Diamond songs are non-religious, yet they are inspired by the depth of her families’ pursuit for spirituality, the practices of those sacred gatherings, choral singing and the complications of growing up as a pastor's child always on the move. Central to the story is the consistent love her grandfather gave, calling her the “apple of his eye” and the ways love shapes our sense of being.
Big Ears Festival in Knoxville
Cap off the exciting show news with two performances at the always wonderful Big Ears Festival this coming Spring in Knoxville, TN from March 30 - April 2, 2023. Shara will be performing The Blue Hour song cycle, in addition to a separate My Brightest Diamond set. Set dates will be announced soon, start planning your trip to Tennesse, passes are on sale now!
